It is actually an upgrade of the riverbed to allow a diversion of part of the water from it into a channel called beal - which will then return its water to the river after having "harvested" its energy. Impressive construction of about 5 m high and 20 m. of width with, according to the season and the volume of the river, produces whirring waterfalls or delicate curtains of freshness.
